(Kansas City) — A seven-week-old girl is hospitalized with extremely serious injuries, and police think rats are to blame. The infant’s parents had a baby monitor turned-on early Sunday when they heard the tiny girl screaming.

The latest addition to the Louisville Zoo, Kentucky’s state zoo, is a male siamang named Zoli. He weighed eight ounces at his Feb. 20 birth. Siamangs are tree-dwelling apes native to Southeast Asia. They are an endangered species, due to rainforest destruction.
